Waste Water Treatment

Coagulation and flocculation are important steps in wastewater treatment. The flocculation of colloidal particles to macroscopic flocks increases the sedimentation of suspended solids and will charge less the further (biological) treatment. The choice of the most appropriate flocculant is very important for a good performance and depends on the kind of wastewater. The type of suspension will determine if one should use a cationic or an anionic flocculant and what should be the best molecular weight and density of charge. A flocculation test called Jar-test will be necessary to determine on site or in our laboratory what the best flocculant is and what the best dosage is.
